Colby Georgsen
Lawyer

I am honoured to advocate for the fair treatment of workers. In my employment law practice, I frequently represent clients in severance negotiations, wrongful dismissal claims, constructive dismissal claims, and human rights complaints. I also review employment contracts and provide strategic advice to assist clients navigating a wide variety of complex workplace issues.

My practice is guided by the values of integrity and transparency. My objective is to provide candid, practical advice to help clients understand their rights, make informed decisions, and obtain fair results. I have a strong track record obtaining positive outcomes for clients, either through negotiated settlements or litigation when necessary. Prior to joining HHBG, I practiced employment law in Calgary, Alberta, and I often appeared before the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta and the Alberta Court of Justice.

Outside the office, I’m active outdoors and enjoy running, hiking, cycling, skiing, and paddling on the water. I also spend a good portion of the winter months in a hockey arena. I have been a Hockey Canada referee for 16 years, officiating games at the Major Junior and University level.
