“I consider it a privilege to advocate for my clients when they have legal problems in the workplace.
I understand that work is a fundamental part of our lives – yet many workers do not know their legal rights or do not feel empowered to stand up for themselves. My employment law practice is therefore centered around demystifying the laws that apply to employees, and advocating for my clients when those laws are not followed. I can assist you if you want to understand or negotiate the terms of your employment contract, need help navigating an ongoing challenge in the workplace, or have been dismissed and have not been given a fair severance package.
After growing up in Vancouver, I moved to Calgary to complete my undergraduate degrees. I then moved back to Vancouver and completed my law degree at the University of British Columbia. During law school, I had the privilege of volunteering with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP), where I was introduced to employment law. I immediately knew that it was what I wanted to pursue.
Prior to joining HHBG, I practised employment law at a national employment law firm. I have led and won trials in the BC Provincial Court and the BC Supreme Court, and have appeared before various administrative tribunals including the BC Human Rights Tribunal and the BC Employment Standards Branch.
Outside of work, I can be found researching my next travel destination, enjoying movies and live music, and pampering my cat, Goose. I also enjoy hunting for the best new restaurants in Vancouver, playing chess (poorly), and other board and puzzle games.
