I help my clients to understand their legal rights and react appropriately to workplace employment law situations. I assist in dealing with dismissals, workplace harassment, contract disputes, workplace discipline and investigations, pay and commission issues, disabilities, human rights & privacy concerns, and other workplace issues. I encourage employees to proactively address their employment law status by reviewing or creating employment contracts and understanding their rights before problems arise.
Prior to joining HHBG, I practised at a boutique employment law firm in Vancouver for four years, where I won many employment law trials at Supreme Court. I have obtained significant judgments against the BC government, a local municipality, and several large corporations.
I also spent a year as the BC employment lawyer for a multi-provincial employer side law firm, where I designed policies, provided training, and gave advice to large multinational corporations. I understand employment law concerns facing both employees and employers, and use this knowledge to my clients’ advantage.
I attended law school at the University of British Columbia, and was called to the bar in 2006. Prior to law school, I obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in International Business from the University of Victoria.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, snowboarding, home brewing, and walking my dog.
