Anita K. Atwal

"I help you resolve challenging workplace issues in a practical and efficient manner.

My principal objective is to assist you in solving your problem.  Whether I am providing you with strategic advice, managing your risk or zealously advocating on your behalf, you will always receive advice that is practical and in your best interest. I am an experienced litigator, having appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia and before administrative tribunals. I advise on a wide array of workplace issues, including contract review, termination, severance packages, and non-solicitation or non-competition agreements.  I have a keen interest in issues surrounding workplace investigations and disciplinary proceedings.

Prior to joining HHBG, I practiced at a large regional law firm where I worked for a wide range of clients. My experience at a large firm has prepared me to give advice that is practical and unbiased.

I was born and raised in Surrey.  After receiving my undergraduate degree from Simon Fraser University, I obtained my Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 2005.  I was called to the bar of British Columbia in 2006 and I am a member of the Canadian Bar Association Employment Law and Human Rights Subsection.  I served as president and director of the South Asian Bar Association and remain an active member.  I am fluent in English and Punjabi.

Outside of the practice of law, I devote my time to my family.
